Frequently asked questions
What buyers ask us.
Our prospects' most frequent questions on pricing, security and contractual terms.
Can I downgrade from Business to Team?
+
Yes, at any time from the organisation's /settings/billing screen. The downgrade takes effect at the end of the current period. The Business features that are removed (SCIM, 1 year audit log, 99.5% SLA, next business day e-mail support, standardised DPA) cease on the effective date. Your data stays intact: the audit log beyond 90 days becomes inaccessible again but is not deleted immediately (retention window configurable according to the applicable GDPR obligations).
Can I upgrade mid-month?
+
Yes. Moving from Team to Business or Business to Enterprise is immediate. The pro rata is billed on the end of the current period. No configuration reset, the RBAC roles and vaults stay in place.
Is there a discount on annual payment?
+
Yes. The annual commitment applies a rate equivalent to 2 months free compared with monthly (Team: €4/seat annual vs €5 monthly; Business: €7/seat annual vs €8.40 monthly; that is about 20% saving over 12 months). Payment by card, SEPA direct debit or bank transfer. A PDF purchase order is generated for procurement departments.
Is there a refund policy?
+
For monthly Team and Business subscriptions: full refund of the last monthly instalment on request within 14 days of a debit, without justification, in accordance with the Consumer Code applicable to distance contracts. For annual subscriptions: pro rata refund of the unused months, excluding termination for fault. For Enterprise: terms negotiated contractually (standard 90 days notice).
How does the seat count work?
+
One seat = one active member of a Team, Business or Enterprise organisation. Counted: memberships that are neither revoked nor expired, and accepted invitations (billing starts on acceptance, not on sending). Not counted: each user's Personal organisation, pending invitations, and members explicitly marked inactive by an admin.
What happens if I exceed 50 seats on Team?
+
The system warns the organisation's admin at 45 seats. Beyond 50, new invitations are blocked with a clear message inviting an upgrade to Business. The organisation continues to work normally for existing members; only new additions are blocked.
Is SSO really included in the free tier?
+
Yes. SAML 2.0 and OIDC configuration is available from the Personal organisation onwards. The SSO + master password fallback mode ships in V1.5. No paid option is added to enable SSO on specific providers: Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, Okta and OneLogin are supported at the same level, on all plans.
Why no Family plan?
+
The family password manager segment is saturated and carries a B2C sales cycle that ARDNTECH is not targeting in V1. The priority vertical is security MSPs and cybersecurity consulting firms. A Family plan may be opened later if traction justifies it, not before.
Can I pay in USD, GBP, CHF?
+
At V1 launch, billing is in euros only via Stancer (French PSP, France hosting). The extension to CHF and GBP is planned for V1.5. Enterprise contracts can be negotiated in currency on a case by case basis.
What happens to my vault if I stop paying?
+
The organisation switches to read only for 30 days after a payment failure. Users can still decrypt their secrets and export them. Beyond that, the organisation's secrets are placed in the archived state (decryptable by owners for a further 90 days). Permanent deletion only after formal notification of the owner and a grace period. The Free Personal organisation is never affected.
Can I self-host the Team version for free?
+
Yes. The ARDNTECH source code is fully available under AGPLv3, including the Team and Business features. The paid Cloud tier pays for France hosting, the SLA, human support and contractual guarantees, not the software features themselves. Self-hosting is documented and supported by the community.
