The two articles below set out the scope of application of these Terms and the special status of the service during its free beta phase. They condition all the other undertakings.
These Terms and Conditions of Use (hereinafter the "Terms") govern access to and use of the ARDNTECH service (hereinafter the "Service"), published by ARDNTECH EI (hereinafter the "Publisher").
Use of the Service implies full and unreserved acceptance of these Terms. If you do not accept all or part of these terms, you must refrain from using the Service.
The Service is currently offered in a beta version. As such:
ARDNTECH is built on an architecture of end-to-end encryption. This technical choice conditions the respective responsibilities of the Publisher and the user, particularly regarding key management and authentication.
ARDNTECH is a secrets vault with end-to-end encryption. All sensitive cryptographic operations (key generation, encryption, decryption) take place in the user's browser. The Publisher's server stores only opaque encrypted data (OpenPGP blobs).
The Publisher has technically no access to the cleartext content of the stored secrets. In particular:
The user is solely responsible for safeguarding their private key. The security page details the cryptographic stack and the formalised threat model.
Use of the Service requires the creation of an account. The user undertakes to provide a valid email address and not to impersonate a third party.
The user is responsible for the confidentiality of their credentials and for any activity carried out from their account. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is strongly recommended and enabled by default (email).
The three articles grouped here specify the reciprocal rights and obligations: protection of personal data under the GDPR, rules of use of the Service, and the intellectual property regime applicable to the AGPL-3.0 source code and the editorial content.
The processing of personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy of the Service, which forms an integral part of these Terms.
The Publisher respects the rights conferred by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): right of access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection. For Business and Enterprise level deployments, a standardised DPA is made available.
The user undertakes to:
The source code of the Service is made available under the AGPL-3.0 and publicly accessible on the Publisher's GitHub repository. This licence governs the rights of use, modification and redistribution of the software, including for a self-hosted deployment.
The contents of this website (texts, logos, graphics excluding the official logo) remain the property of the Publisher.
The last five articles frame the Publisher's undertakings regarding liability, termination, amendment of the Terms and applicable law, and indicate the contact channels for any question relating to this document.
The Publisher undertakes to implement reasonable means to ensure the security and availability of the Service. However, owing to its beta status:
The user may delete their account at any time from their settings. Deletion entails the irreversible erasure of their data stored with the Publisher, subject to the legal retention of audit logs (chained HMAC) for traceability purposes.
The Publisher may suspend or terminate an account in the event of a breach of these Terms, after prior notification where possible.
The Publisher reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Users are informed of substantial changes by email at least fifteen (15) days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to their interpretation or performance falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the French courts, subject to the mandatory rules applicable to consumers.
For any question relating to these Terms:
The framework is set: free throughout the beta, zero-knowledge by design, French law, verifiable code. Open your vault ARDNTECH in under a minute, or consult the privacy policy for the detail of personal data processing.
